Given the context of Japanese immigration to Brazil and the differences between two countries, the ceramist’s works stand up in the art circuit due to the coexistence of Japanese and Mesoamerican cultures in this criations. At the same time the Casa’s production is recognized for its care and dedication in maintaining the more traditional values involved in the Japanese ceramics production (such as the firing process done in noborigama wood kiln, obtaining materials from natural resources, among others), its objects have Mesoamerican aesthetic characteristics due to the imagistic references acquired by the artist during his travels through South America. During the research, it had been explored how Japanese values involved in ceramic production were preserved in Brazil and how the adaptation process contributed to their maintenance, as well as its reinterpretation through the assimilation of other cultures. This study will be conducted by the fundamental literature, through interviews with the Casa’s members about the production processes, techniques and aesthetic references, their mode of production analysis and their resulting ceramic objects.
