Currently, a lower limb force is important for speed performance, coming out of vertical jumps and great predictors of performance. It is already known that during the training of athletes suffer great physical stress, being extremely important the monitoring of physiological and biochemical, to assimilate the training and its recovery. PURPOSE: To analyze a performance of vertical jump and creatine kinase, during the preparatory and competitive period of the Brazilian Paralympic Athletics Team. METHODS: Sixty-two athletes with different types of disability were evaluated, members of the Brazilian Paralympic athletics team of both genders. The study has a longitudinal character, consisting of 5 periods of evaluation (3 preparations and 2 competitive) evaluating serum levels of Creatine Kinase (CK) and analysis of vertical jumps Squat Jump (SJ), in order to evaluate as many as acutely adaptive For During The period of preparation and competitiveness. Statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) 15.0. A descriptive analysis (median and standard error) was performed without a qualitative analysis of the Shapiro-Wilk pattern, since one example was not normal, or it was not tested as a Wilcoxon parametric. It was also adopted the value of P <0.05 for significance. In addition, the ideal value of 120% for CK values was calculated as a way to prevent injuries. RESULTS: There were alterations in CK values for the analyzed period, with a significant mean between initial and final collections. Some athletes still have RCV values above the stipulated limit of 120%. SJ has changed over the course of the preparation period. CK and SJ presented inversely proportional behavior. CONCLUSION: Both CK and SJ are important for the assimilation of the workout load and recovery of athletes, and may indicate improvement or performance of athletes in Paralympics.
