    Ecos tridentinos: as relações ad limina pernambucanas e as ações as ações do clero secular em relação à população indígena (1680-1746)

    In this research is significant to understand the ad limina reports of the diocese of Pernambuco — documentation produced between 1680 and 1746 originated from the Archivio Secreto Vaticano (ASV), fonds of Congregazione del Concilio, Relationes Dioecesium - 596 (Olinden) — considering reflections about the actions of the secular clergy in relation to indigenous population, a problematic that encompasses the wider context of religious framework in the Tridentine period. Thus, it is important to note what exactly were these ad limina reports which emerged immediately after the Council of Trent, and had been written in Portuguese America amongst several local specificities involving new actors in the field of missionary work.
