The orchestra lived about 30 years with a provocative and innovative structure for the period and it proposed a singular form of orchestral and artistic composition: dialogue between sacred and ancestral Afro-Brazilian and African musical instruments, belonging to a particular religious pantheon, with musical instruments considered "professional" of consecrated orchestras in the tradition of occidental classic music. The research of this insertion, singularity, organization and musical authorship conception of Abigail Moura and his orchestra in the history of Afro-Brazilian music, synthesizes the objectives of this project.
