The multiple analysis showed that professionals graduated from public universities (p=0,037), with some type of specialization (p=0,023) and working in the clinical nutrition area (p=0,000) had higher scores. From these professionals, 37,6% didn?t recognize the dietary fiber recommendation according to DRI and 30,3% reported ?Not knowing?; on the other hand 86,2% recognized the recommendation of the World Health Organization. Regarding water intake, 97,8% recognized the importance of water in the prevention and treatment of constipation, however 53,4% of the professionals misbelieve that there are specific recommendations of water and dietary fiber for patiens of different age groups with functional chronic constipation.
