    Os trabalhadores de mundo novo : da sujeição ao quilombo

    The objective of this dissertation is to investigate the constitution process of the Mundo Novo community while remainder of a ?quilombo? and certain categories and notions driven by this context. While analizing the concreteness of a specific social process, we will look to contribute to the understanding of the diverse and plural mosaic of the communities who are self-proclaimed as being quilombolas of the country. The Mundo Novo community is located in the town of Areia, in the region of the Paraíba swamp, in the lands of the former Engenho Mundo Novo. As part of the statements given by the agents, the inhabitants of the sugar mill, who claim to lead a life and work situation, full of limitations and obligations, or conditions, we built an ethnographic journey throughout historic times, as reported by the members of the community. Our desire is to analize its formation process as a remainder of a quilombo, focusing on the notions and categories ? which comprise the ?ethnic? quilombo category ? touted be it by the?natives?, or by ?specialized? discourse, or by the State.
