The Modification Of Vegetable Oil Is Necessary Because They Have Nonpolar Characteristics And Are Difficult To Incorporate Into Aqueous Solutions And Emulsions. Vegetable Oils Can Be Modified By Various Techniques To Produce Surfactants Or Emollients To Produce Shampoos And Liquid Soap. Thus, The Present Work Aims To Modify The Palm Kernel Oil (Pko) With Poly (Ethylene Glycol) (Peg), Aiming To Modify The Water Solubility Of The Oil For Application In Translucent Shampoo Formulations. The Pko Oil Modification Reactions Were Conducted With Two Types Of Peg Relative To The Molar Mass (400 And 600 G.Mol-1) And Employing The Stanoic Butyl Acid (Fascat" 4100) As The Catalyst. The Effect Of Catalyst Concentration, Reaction Time And Peg Type Were Analyzed Statistically. The Products Obtained Were Characterized In Relation To Surface Tension, Viscosity, Water Solubility,
