FANTASMAS EM PALIMPSESTO: leituras a partir de "Noite dentro da noite", de Joca Reiners Terron

Abstract

Este trabalho desenvolve dois prismas de leitura complementares e interdependentes a partir de uma leitura crítica de Noite dentro da noite (2017), romance de Joca Reiners Terron: os fantasmas e os palimpsestos. Para tanto, investiga as bordas porosas entre texto e imagem, história, memória e imaginação presentes no romance, uma obra de narrativa fragmentada em que cada capítulo é introduzido por uma fotografia em branco e preto rasurada. Enquanto o primeiro prisma, dos fantasmas, possibilita pensar os entrelaçamentos entre fantasia, imaginação, trauma e memória, o segundo, dos palimpsestos, circunscreve os procedimentos construtivos do romance, pensando a voz narrativa enquanto montagem intertextual de vozes e temporalidades. Composto como um percurso metalinguístico, o trabalho inicia-se por uma reflexão sobre os lugares da leitura e pela elaboração de um modo de ler crítico a partir do contato que propõe o semiótico Robert Scholes, via Roland Barthes, entre as noções dialéticas de “texto da obra” e “texto da vida”. Avança em seguida para o desenvolvimento dos dois prismas propostos, em um trajeto que passa pelas noções psicanalíticas de trauma e fantasia; pelas reflexões que fazem Luiz Costa Lima e Daniel Link sobre a imaginação e a memória; pelos sintomas, sobrevivências e anacronismos que propõe Georges Didi-Huberman e Giorgio Agamben via Walter Benjamin e Aby Warburg; e pelo conceito linguístico da intertextualidade. Ao dialogar com tais referências, acolhendo elementos múltiplos ao longo da leitura da obra de Terron, o trabalho propõe uma costura que reflete dialeticamente tanto a obra lida quanto a construção desta leitura, apontando, em sua conclusão, no sentido de um lugar inespecífico.

This work aims to develop two complementary and interdependent prisms from a critical reading of Noite dentro da noite [Night within the night] (2017), a novel by Joca Reiners Terron: phantoms and palimpsests. The study investigates the porous borders between text and image, history, memory and imagination present in the novel, a fragmented narrative in which each chapter is introduced by a scratched black and white photograph. Whilst the first prism, phantoms, allows us to reflect upon the interweavings between fantasy, imagination, trauma and memory, the second, palimpsests, circumscribes the constructive strategies within the novel, thinking the narrative as an intertextual montage of voices and temporalities. Along a metalinguistic path, this study begins with a reflection on the places of reading itself and the preparation of a critical way of reading, based on the mutual implications between the dialectical notions of “text of the work” and “text of our lives” as they are proposed by Robert Scholes via Roland Barthes. The study then proceeds to the development of those two prisms, along a path that moves through the psychoanalytic notions of trauma and fantasy; through the reflections made by Luiz Costa Lima and Daniel Link on imagination and memory; through the symptoms, survivals and anachronisms proposed by Georges Didi-Huberman and Giorgio Agamben via Walter Benjamin and Aby Warburg; and, finally, through the linguistic notion of intertextuality. By moving along such diverse references and gathering elements throughout the reading of Terron’s novel, the study aims to reflecting dialectically both its object and its process, pointing, in its conclusion, towards a non-specific place.
