In 2020, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the students experienced social distancing as a safety protocol and the educational institutions developed/had to develop their activities through the emergencial remote teaching. From that point on the objective of the research was to analyze the main impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and its influences in the academic trajectory of the undergraduate students of the health area program at UNIFESP – campus Baixada Santista between the 2016 and 2021. Regarding the methodological aspects, it is a qualitative research that has quantitative data, based on interpretative description. An online questionnaire was applied as the instrument for data collection. In the first part of the study, the profile of the campus Baixada Santista student was analyzed and in the second part, this study sought to understand the impact of the pandemic in the personal and academic lives of the students as well as the effectiveness of the learning by the means of information and communication technologies in the remote learning environment. The data analysis revealed the difficulties involving learning in the pandemic context and the psychological suffering resulting from the pandemic and the social isolation, the domestic and academic task overload and the worsening of the familiar economic condition. The need for teaching improvement regarding the didactics for remote learning, the difficulties in adapting to the (new) remote model such as excess of screen time, inadequate places for study and the feeling of unpreparedness in the training were pointed out as challenging for the students. Better teacher/student interactivity, recorded classes, flexible schedule and development of students’ autonomy were recognized as positive aspects of the remote teaching, making learning more effective. As a contribution, through the participants’ reports, the study brings reflections for improvement in respect of the return of the in-class courses and the necessary adjustments regarding the gaps and potentialities of the remote learning students experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic
