Educação ambiental, sustentabilidade e projetos político-pedagógicos em escolas públicas brasileiras: desafios e possibilidades para a transformação social

Resumo
O principal objetivo da presente dissertação foi analisar os Projetos Político-Pedagógicos (PPPs) de cinco escolas públicas, sendo uma de cada região do Brasil, de modo a investigar se e como a Educação Ambiental (EA) e a Sustentabilidade são abordadas nos documentos fundamentais das instituições, além de destacar como a sua integração pode contribuir para a formação de estudantes críticos, sensíveis às questões socioambientais e conscientes de suas responsabilidades nesse contexto, auxiliando na transformação social da sua comunidade. O tipo de pesquisa escolhido para o estudo foi o qualitativo, para que fosse possível analisar de forma intrínseca os significados, motivos, aspirações, crenças, valores, atitudes e interpretações dos conteúdos inseridos nos PPPs que estavam relacionados com a EA e a Sustentabilidade. Como complemento, a metodologia selecionada foi a exploratória, para haver uma maior familiaridade com os fenômenos de interesse. Por meio dos resultados atingidos, compreendeu-se acerca das potencialidades e carências que cada escola participante possui ao trabalhar com a temática, onde foi proposto um pré-projeto de livro sobre os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS) para gestores e professores de escolas públicas brasileiras, com o intuito de aperfeiçoar os conhecimentos dos profissionais e, consequentemente, aprimorar a inserção da EA e Sustentabilidade nos PPPs e no cotidiano escolar.
The main objective of this dissertation was to analyze the Political-Pedagogical Projects (PPPs) of five state and/or municipal public schools in Brazil, one from each region, in order to investigate in what ways Environmental Education (EE) and Sustainability are addressed in the institutions' fundamental documents, in addition to highlighting how their integration can positively instigate the formation of critical students, sensitive to socio-environmental issues and aware of their responsibilities in this context, helping in the social transformation of their community. The type of research chosen for the study was qualitative, so that it was possible to intrinsically analyze the meanings, motives, aspirations, beliefs, values, attitudes and interpretations of the content included in the PPPs that were related to EE and Sustainability. As a complement, the methodology selected was exploratory, to ensure greater familiarity with the phenomena of interest. Through the results achieved, it was understood about the potentialities and shortcomings that each participating school has when working with the theme, where a pre-book project on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was proposed for managers and teachers of public schools Brazilian institutions, with the aim of improving the knowledge of professionals and, consequently, improving the insertion of EE and Sustainability in PPPs and in everyday school life.
