Resumo
Este trabalho explora a complexidade da relação entre a arte e a saúde mental, ressaltando suas interações, paradoxos e potencialidades. A arte, enquanto manifestação intrínseca da experiência humana, desafia definições estáticas e transcende barreiras conceituais. A saúde mental, por sua vez, é um campo plural que requer abordagens que evitem o reducionismo. A partir de um olhar biopsicossocial, foi feita uma revisão de literatura abrangendo as seguintes questões: o percurso histórico do papel da arte na saúde e na sociedade; reflexões e contradições acerca da relação entre a arte, o sofrimento e a cura; a importância da intersecção entre arte e cultura para garantia de direitos; e as implicações do cruzamento entre o artístico e a geração de renda.
This work explores the complexity of the relationship between art and mental health, highlighting their interactions, paradoxes, and potentialities. Art, as an intrinsic manifestation of human experience, challenges static definitions and transcends conceptual boundaries. Mental health, in turn, is a diverse field that requires approaches avoiding reductionism. From a biopsychosocial perspective, a literature review was conducted addressing the following topics: the historical trajectory of art's role in health and society; reflections and contradictions regarding the relationship between art, suffering, and healing; the importance of the intersection between art and culture to ensure rights; and the implications of the intersection between art and income generation.
