The present academic work aims to analyze the business plan for the establishment of a participatory consumer cooperative, following the Park Slope Food Coop model (New York), in the city of São Paulo. The research consisted of a literature review on cooperativism and self-management, using sources such as Pinho (1982), Singer (2002), and Irion (1997), as well as informal interviews with directors of PSFC and similar organizations. Additionally, a preliminary survey of potential cooperative members and an analysis of data on the retail market and consumer behavior in Brazil were considered. Legal, operational, strategic, and financial aspects were addressed, and the results obtained demonstrate that the establishment of a consumer cooperative can be a viable alternative to promote self-management and the appreciation of human labor, following established cooperative principles.
