A pesquisa de percepção pública é um importante instrumento de coleta de dados para diagnosticar e conhecer as percepções, opiniões e interesse das pessoas. O ano de 2020 foi marcado pela pandemia de Covid-19 causada pelo vírus SARS-CoV-2. Atrelado a este assunto de importância mundial, muitos temas se tornaram frequentes no cotidiano das pessoas, tais como vírus, mutações, variantes, produção de vacinas e também o compartilhamento de notícias falsas. Diante deste fato, o principal objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar as percepções e o conhecimento de universitários de diferentes cursos em temas relacionados à evolução biológica, vírus e atitudes durante a pandemia de Covid-19. Para realizar esta pesquisa, de caráter quantitativo, foi elaborado um questionário, no formato eletrônico, com 54 perguntas fechadas. Para as respostas, foi utilizada uma escala tipo Likert com quatro pontos de concordância. O questionário foi aplicado a 55 estudantes universitários. Com a análise dos resultados, foi possível observar que os estudantes possuem conhecimentos satisfatórios sobre evolução biológica e vírus, se interessam por temas relacionados à evolução biológica, biotecnologia e possuem um alto grau de confiabilidade em cientistas e professores.
Public perception survey is an important data collection tool to diagnose and learn about people's perceptions, opinions, and interests. The year 2020 was marked by the Covid-19 pandemic caused by the SARS-Cov-2 virus, and linked to this issue of global importance, many topics have become frequent in people's daily lives, such as viruses, mutations, variants, vaccine production and also the dissemination of fake news. In view of this fact, the main objective of this work was to investigate the perceptions and knowledge of college students from different courses on topics related to biological evolution, viruses and attitudes during the Covid-19 pandemic. Among the specific objectives were to know the main sources of information consulted by the students and the level of trust in scientists, doctors, professors, journalists, and government representatives (politicians). To carry out this quantitative survey, a virtual questionnaire was developed, with 54 closed questions subdivided into nine sessions. A Likert-type scale with four points of agreement was used for the answers. The questionnaire was applied to 55 college students. With the analysis of the results, it was possible to observe that the students have satisfactory knowledge about biological evolution and viruses, is interested in topics related to biological evolution, biotechnology and has a high level of trust in scientists and professors.
