Enfermagem. Para tanto, é necessário considerar o desenvolvimento do aluno e
estimular a leitura/escrita de textos científicos. A presente pesquisa visa trazer
This thesis approaches the Monograph under the Academic Professors and Undergraduate Student’s View. Its objective is to analyze the development process of this work, identifying the easiness, difficulties and expectations as well as the repercussions of this process. It is assumed that a nurse must be prepared to deal with the triad that is required from the nursing legislation: the expertise in care, the care management and the role of a Researcher/Educator. In this study accomplished at Faculdade de Enfermagem do Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, in São Paulo, before collecting data, the literature about the research education in Nursing was studied. The sample of this research was constituted of fifteen students and five Professors from the mentioned institution. The criterion used involved: 1-Students who had already participated of the whole preparation process of a monograph or students who were about to conclude their monograph, whose accomplishment of the scientific process had been the one demanded from the course. 2-Teachers who had already obtained a questionnaire composed of eight questions (six numeric open end questions and two text open end questions) and from the Focal group who were treated based on the content analysis. The results of this research evidences that the preparation of the monograph either for academic professors or for undergraduate students is an activity that is paramount, stimulates the scientific production and can improve the nursing practice. However, it is necessary to consider student’s development and stimulate some skills such as the reading and writing of scientific texts. The present research aims to contribute to the formation of graduating students and do not propose a model neither establishes judgment of values over any academic activity.
