O estudo delineou o perfil do indivíduo
apresentaram asma parcialmente controlada, 2 apresentaram asma controlada
e 2 apresentaram asma mal controlada), 3 indivíduos apresentaram
impacto (11,5) e (14,4), total (16,5) e (19,1). Conclusão: No presente estudo
Provavelmente, a pequena amostra e o período curto
Introduction: Defined as a chronic inflammatory disease, asthma causes hyperresponsiveness of the lower airways, limiting airflow, and causing episodes of coughing, wheezing, and dyspnea. Recent epidemiological data on asthma in Brazil show a prevalence of approximately 10%. Considering the importance of the awareness and orientation of the asthmatic population on what is the disease, forms of treatment, evolution and respiratory exercises, this study seeks to evaluate the impact of an educational plan elaborated by physiotherapy students, in the quality of life of people with asthma. Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of the asthmatic individual before and after a specific education program. Methods: The present study is a prospective cohort study aimed at analyzing the improvement in the quality of life of asthmatic patients undergoing a disease-oriented education program. Program applied in individuals with confirmed diagnosis of asthma. The study outlined the profile of the individual with asthma in relation to the demographic, clinical, functional and quality of life characteristics, through ACT questionnaires, ACQ-7 and SGRQ were applied before and after directed education program. Results: Six asthmatic subjects were analyzed, with a mean age (SD) of 41 (± 12), 17 (± 3.5) mean ACT scores, ACQ-7 (2 participants had partially controlled asthma, 2 (30.9) and (32.1), activities (17.3%), and (2) and (20.2), impact (11.5) and (14.4), total (16.5) and (19.1). Conclusion: In the present study we did not observe changes in the quality of life of asthmatics after the education program. Probably the small sample and the short period between evaluations may have contributed to this result
