Análise do tema “Modelos atômicos” em livros didáticos do PNLD 2021 pelas lentes da história da ciência

Abstract

O presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar os de livros didáticos do PNLD 2021, focalizando na abordagem do tema “modelos atômicos”, baseada nas concepções da História da Ciência. Embora seja um tema há muito estudado no campo da Educação Química, a revisão bibliográfica demonstrou que não há estudos sobre a edição mais recente do PNLD. A análise dos livros ocorreu por meio de quatro dimensões, sendo elas: Vida dos Personagens (VP), Abordagem das ideias (AI), Evolução da Ciência (EC) e Quem Faz a Ciência (QFC). As categorias foram elaboradas para possibilitar a análise de diferentes aspectos da História da Ciência. Os resultados apontam para uma semelhança na abordagem das categorias VP e QFC entre os livros analisados, sendo utilizados apenas dados bibliográficos simples na introdução dos cientistas. Em relação à EC percebe-se que prevalece uma visão linear e acumulativa da ciência, no qual a abordagem inicia-se a partir do pensamento grego sobre a matéria e vai até o modelo de Bohr. Por fim, a categoria AI é a que mais difere um livro do outro, no caso da editora SM e Moderna o assunto é tratado em um único capítulo, a editora Scipione apresenta os modelos em dois capítulos distintos, enquanto a editora FTD optou por apresentar o tema no formato de linha do tempo com os “principais marcos” do desenvolvimento atômico.

The present work had as objective to analyze the schoolbooks of the PNLD 2021, focusing on the approach of the theme “atomic models”, based on the conceptions of the History of Science. Although this topic has been studied for a long time in the field of Chemical Education, the literature review showed that there are no studies on the most recent edition of the PNLD. The analysis of the books took place through four dimensions, namely: Characters' Life (VP), Approach to Ideas (AI), Evolution of Science (EC) and Who Makes Science (QFC). The categories were created to enable the analysis of different aspects of the History of Science. The results point to a similarity in the approach of the VP and QFC categories between the analyzed books, with only simple bibliographic data being used in the introduction of the scientists. Regarding CE, it is clear that a linear and cumulative view of science prevails, in which the approach begins with Greek thought on the matter and goes up to Bohr's model. Finally, the AI category is the one that most differs one book from another, in the case of SM and Moderna publishers the subject is treated in a single chapter, Scipione publisher presents the models in two distinct chapters, while FTD publisher chose to present the theme in timeline format with the "major milestones" of atomic development.
