Escola e Saúde Mental: Possibilidades para Construção de Práticas Promotoras de Saúde

Resumo
Considerando os impactos da saúde mental de adolescentes em contextos educativos e a escola como um ambiente favorável para a promoção de saúde e educação em saúde, o presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar as principais questões relacionadas à saúde mental de adolescentes em contexto escolar e suas vivências e experiências. Foi realizada uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo com estudantes do ensino médio de uma escola pública localizada em uma cidade do interior de São Paulo, por meio de um questionário online. Quarenta e sete estudantes responderam à pesquisa. As perguntas apresentaram-se divididas em seções contendo ao todo vinte e duas questões. As respostas obtidas identificaram as percepções dos adolescentes sobre o contexto da escola e fatores que podem interferir nas condições de saúde mental, considerando também o apoio familiar e acesso a bens e serviços do município. Os resultados apontaram a escola como um bom lugar para se estar, porém, evidenciou-se casos de bullying e sofrimento no ambiente escolar maior que o encontrado em estudos anteriores. Observou-se a falta de apoio e de acolhimento, mesmo que em algumas respostas, este ambiente se retratou como importante e significativo. Além do mais, a pesquisa ressalta a necessidade de implantação de políticas públicas efetivas que considerem as demandas derivadas dessa fase da vida e que garantam o direito à cidadania e melhor qualidade de vida para essa população, considerando a escola e sua comunidade como importantes neste processo.
Considering the impacts of teenagers' mental health in educational contexts and the school as a favorable environment for the promotion of health and health education, the present study aimed to analyze the main issues related to the mental health of adolescents in a school context and their background and experiences. A qualitative research was made with high school students from a public school located in a city in the interior of São Paulo, through an online questionnaire. Forty-seven students responded to the survey. The questions were divided into sections containing a total of twenty-two questions. The answers obtained identified the teenagers' perceptions about the school context and factors that may interfere with mental health conditions, also considering family support and access to goods and services in their city. The results pointed the school as a good place to be, however, there were cases of bullying and suffering in the school environment greater than those identified in previous studies. It was observed that there was a lack of support and refuge, even though in some answers this environment was portrayed as important and significant. Fortheremore, this research points to the need of effective public policies implementation, that consider all the demands arising from this phase of life and that guarantee the right of citizenship and better quality of life for this population, considering the school and its community as important in this process.
