O efeito da intervenção musical no desenvolvimento de indivíduos com paralisia cerebral: uma revisão na literatura

Abstract

A paralisia cerebral é uma doença que afeta muitas crianças atualmente no Brasil e em todo mundo. Pelo fato do tratamento ser longo, muitas crianças e adolescentes acabam se desmotivando com o tratamento padrão, por isso, a necessidade da utilização (ou aplicação) de novas terapias como a música. Além de poder ser estimuladora ao paciente, a música consegue estimular outras áreas não acessadas com um tratamento padrão. Considerando o potencial desta terapia o objetivo do estudo foi identificar na literatura existente as principais lacunas relacionadas ao tema, através de uma revisão sistemática. Foram incluídos artigos em inglês, português e espanhol pesquisados nas bases Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature), EMBASE (Excerpta Medica Database), Portal Regional da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (PubMed). No total, 5 artigos foram encontrados que atendem todos os aspectos. Os mesmos demonstraram ser uma literatura recente e promissora, principalmente quando acrescida de uma intervenção física, como a fisioterapia. Portanto, é necessário mais estudos que tornem a evidência forte e incluam avaliações em outros aspectos.

Cerebral palsy is a disease that currently affects many children in Brazil and around the world. Because the treatment is long, many children and adolescents end up getting discouraged with the standard treatment, hence the need to use (or apply) new therapies such as music. In addition to being able to stimulate the patient, music can stimulate other areas not accessed with standard treatment. Considering the potential of this therapy, the aim of the study was to identify the main gaps related to the topic in the existing literature, through a systematic review. Articles in English, Portuguese and Spanish were searched in the Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Scopus CINAHL (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature), EMBASE (Excerpta Medica Database), Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (PubMed). In total, 5 articles were found that meet all aspects. They proved to be a recent and promising literature, especially when added to a physical intervention, such as physiotherapy. Therefore, more studies are needed to make the evidence strong and include assessments in other respects
