With the pandemic, the use of the internet was intensified to carry out numerous activities, and among these also the lives and webinars, taking place with the most diverse themes and for the most diverse purposes. This would be no different with the themes "Environment" and "Environmental Education", which for some time have been emerging from strategies that involve the use of the internet and social networks as a way to address the socio-environmental issue, but now also, seeking to reflect on the moment humanity is going through. Thus, from this mandatory stop, an opportunity to deepen, through these virtual meetings, the reflections on the socio-environmental theme was envisioned. However, a question arose: who are they and what are the interests of the individuals who usually participate in these “webnaries” with the socio-environmental theme? The present study was based on the assumption that most participants would be individuals who already had a prior interest in the subject. In this sense, the present study had as general objective to problematize the scope of a “webnário” with the socio-environmental theme as a sensitization tool to be used in Environmental Education. And he answered the following research question: would ease of access favor the participation of individuals who normally would not travel to attend a lecture, for example? A webinar was held on a topic in the socio-environmental area, widely publicizing and evaluating the profile of those who participated through the application of a structured online questionnaire. This work had an exploratory qualitative character in the form of a case study and intended to contribute to the reflections on the effectiveness of different Environmental Education strategies. From the results obtained, it was possible to observe that, in general, the participants who were interested in the developed event already had some pre-sensitization with the socio- environmental theme. It is hoped that this study would contribute to deepening effective alternatives for teaching Environmental Education in the online format, thus overcoming the hegemony of current naturalist/pragmatic trends.
