To investigate the influence of music as a motivator factor in a indoor cycling class, five young health volunteers aged between 17 and 33 years(4femaleand 1 male), indoor cycling practitioners were recruited. The volunteers was submitted atwo identical protocols(class) of indoor cycling. Theprotocol “A”was composed by a indoor cycling class that was executed listen electronic musicsound as motivator factors, and “B”protocol consistingof similar class of the “A” protocol, but carried the sound Brazilian popular music. For each experimental protocol (A and B), the volunteers answer to three questionnaire about mood and well-being, in two conditions: Baseline (realized before the exercise) and post exercise (immediately after each of the classes). The instruments used were the Mood Scale of Brunel (BRUMS), Subjective Experience in ExerciseScale(SEES) and STAi-State.When compared to baseline, we observed an increase of fatigue dimension of BRUMS questionnaire when the protocol was performed with MBPas motivator factors, no modifications was observed when the protocol was performed with electronic music.Another interesting finding of our study was the increase in Well-beingdimension of SEESquestionnaire when the electronic musicprotocol was performed.Considering that the protocols were identical, these data may indicate that musicand musical style can influence the perception of effort. Our data suggest that electronic music seems to promote improvement in the psychobiological perception of wellness practitioners in indoor cycling as opposed to the MPB.
