Dependência de Exercício (EDE), Idate Estado e Traço, Profile of Mood States -
Poms, Inventário Beck de Depressão, Questionário do Sono da Unifesp, Pittsburgh,
Epworth, SF-36 - Pesquisa em Saúde e Questionário de Padrão Social. Esses
The practice of regular physical exercise generates physiological and psychological benefits, helps in the prevention of coronary heart disease, obesity and hypertension, as well as in the control of depression and anxiety. But the practice can cause excessive adverse effects on the body, such as addiction and obsession, can hurt the individual. This dependence can be related to eating disorders and muscle dysmorphia (MD), and can be triggered by the endocannabinoid system. Despite several studies on exercise dependence, few studies have been conducted to understand how these parameters behave in swimmers. The objective of this study was to assess the presence or absence of exercise dependence in swimmers and the effect of this condition in psychobiological parameters related to mood, sleep and quality of life through the application of ten questionnaires: Dependency Scale Exercise (EDE) , Idate State and Trait, Profile of Mood States - Poms, Beck Depression Inventory, Questionnaire Sleep UNIFESP, Pittsburgh, Epworth, SF-36 - Research in Health and Social Survey of Default. These questionnaires were applied in 50 volunteer athletes of the sport swimming, 20 female and 30 male athletes, aged between 16 and 45 years. There was no significant influence of exercise dependence in the psychobiological aspects of mood, sleep and quality of life, even with athletes with a high prevalence of exercise dependence and moderate anxiety. Accordingly, more studies are desirable, suggesting a larger sample to investigate the subjective aspects in order to study the psychobiological effects of exercise-dependent, particularly in swimmers.
