The purpose of this paper is to identify the use of information systems in supporting business processes in the food industry as a strategic factor. The research included the case study in a major international company of reference in the food sector, in which the methods used were participant observation and research ex-post-facto. The sources of evidence were primary and secondary, and collected in the second half of 2014. As a result, it was observed that the business must be minimally maturity level for the integration of processes, and that the company adopts a highly focused management model outsourcing.
