Abstract
This paper presents (a) a concise description of the basic architecture of the Sao Paulo MAT Test (SP-MAT) a neuropsychological battery developed by our Laboratory for the experimental study of acquired mathematical disabilities and (b) the first results obtained with its employment in the investigation of a dyscalculia presented by AA, a right-handed physicist after removal of a left temporal arteriovenous malformation. As a conclusion, we claim that the impairment in AA's calculation abilities is produced by a set of specific deficits in the patient's LTM and STM.
