Objective: The aim of this study was to identify and analyze the Quality of Working Life (QWL) of technical and administrative staff in the administrative area at the campus of the Universidade Federal de São Paulo- UNIFESP. Methods: The research was developed in two phases: first, we used the validated questionnaire QWLQ-78 (Quality of Working Life Questionnaire) to assess the quality of working life of 114 employees. Based on the results from the questionnaire, a semi-structured interview was applied with a sample of 10 workers guided by the following principles: (1) design QWL, (2) discussion of the results of Phase I, (3) participation in QWL activities, (4) suggestions for improving institutional QWL. A pretest of the interview was conducted with a sample of technical and administrative employees in order to improve it. The questionnaire data were statistically analyzed. The interviews were analyzed by content analysis. Results: The quality of working life of the administrative technical employees at the Unifesp was considered satisfactory. Most of the respondents were surprised at this result, particularly by realizing lack of motivation among colleagues. Several refer not participate in QWL programs by ignoring the existence of this program at the university, although some isolated initiatives occur. Most identified the QWL with working conditions, emphasizing the need for gymnastics, and also a more effective health service. They also emphasize the importance of training programs and they are pride of their profession. A technical report for management of the Campus São Paulo resulted as a product of this study. Conclusion: It´s necessary to establish actions and/or AVT program applicable to the context of these employees; such as: changes in training, improved working condictions, investment in health care worker among others. This work had the final product a technical report to be presented to the management of campus São Paulo.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosTumor necrosis factor during pregnancy and at the onset of labor and spontaneous abortion(Elsevier B.V., 1999-03-01) Daher, S.; Fonseca, F.; Ribeiro, O. G.; Musatti, C. C.; Gerbase-DeLima, M.; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP); Inst ButantanObjective: the aim of this study was to evaluate the production of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) by peripheral blood cells during pregnancy, at the onset of labor and of spontaneous abortion (SA), as well as in non-pregnant women with and without a history of recurrent spontaneous abortions (RSA). Study design: the peripheral blood cells TNF production was evaluated in 28 women in the Ist trimester of pregnancy, 21 in the 2nd, and 30 in the 3rd, 47 at term labor; 43, at the onset of SA; 19 healthy and 19 RSA non-pregnant women. the statistical method used was the Mann-Whitney test. Results: We observed (1) lack of TNF detection in the Ist gestational trimester; (2) increase of TNF production with gestational age, with the highest values being observed at labor (P<0.05); (3) high TNF production at the onset of SA; (4) no difference in the TNF production by healthy and RSA non-pregnant women. Conclusions: the suppression of TNF production during the Ist trimester of pregnancy seems to favor the normal development of pregnancy. It remains to be investigated whether the assessment of TNF production is a valuable prognostic parameter for the occurrence of abortion. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ireland Ltd. All rights reserved.
