- ItemSomente MetadadadosAvaliação do efeito da menopausa e climatério sobre a representação da mulher na sociedade(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2014-01-31) Alves, Vuzana Valeska [UNIFESP]; Silva, Ivaldo da Silva [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Introduction: Deep endometriosis is a frequent gynecological condition that affects Women during the reproductive period, manifesting themselves through dysmenorrhea, Chronic pelvic, deep dyspareunia, infertility, urinary and intestinal disorders. The diagnosis is often late, leading to long periods of suffering, Negative impact on women's quality of life, interfering with the relationship between Family and affective, reducing self-esteem and sexual function. Sexual satisfaction is Important component of quality of life and thorough evaluation is critical to A globalized approach of women with deep endometriosis. Objective: To evaluate sexual satisfaction in women with deep endometriosis.METHODS: A cross-sectional study of 80 women aged 18-50 Years, attended at the Federal University of São Paulo. The patients were divided into Two groups. Group 1 (G1) consisted of 30 patients from the Pelvic Endometriosis of the Department of Gynecology, with suspected diagnosis of endometriosis Deep, subsequently submitted to laparoscopy. Group 2 (G2) was composed of 50 Patients from the Family Planning Sector. In this group, no Patient had a history of dysmenorrhea, dyspareunia, chronic pelvic pain or infertility. In both groups, patients with chronic diseases who Interfere with sex life. Three G1 patients were excluded because they did not present Laparoscopic confirmation of deep endometriosis. The two groups were submitted to Self-applicable Sexual Satisfaction Inventory of GolomboK and Rust (Griss) and Demographic questionnaire. The Griss consists of a questionnaire of 28 questions (4 general And 24 specific), divided into seven aspects of sexual function: frequency of relationships, Sexual satisfaction, sexual communication, sexual aversion, lack of expression of Sensuality, vaginismus and anorgasmia. All the patients signed a Free and informed consent. RESULTS: A statistically significant reduction was observed for the general Health: 29.6% of patients with deep endometriosis referred to it with good or very Good, while 76% of healthy women did so. As regards the assessment of Sexual satisfaction, it was observed that the Griss score for G1 presented a mean of 41.9 + 15.5, whereas G2 presented a lower score (better) of 30.9 + 13.4; P = 0.002. When Griss-specific domains were evaluated, there was no statistically significant difference (G1: 4.52 + 2.5, G2 3.58 + 1.95, p = 0.098), Anorgasmia (G1: 6.22 + 3.45, G2: 4.68 + 3.27, p = 0.062) sexual communication (G1: 2.8 + 2.15; G2: 2.78 + 2.28; P = 0.966) and sexual satisfaction (G1: 5.7 + 3.5, G2: 5.1 + 3.5, p = 0.47). There was Significance for the domains: sexual aversion (G1: 6.04 + 3.23, G2: 4.04 + 3.14, p = 0.012), Vaginismus (G1: 6.04 + 3.06, G2: 4.2 + 3.44, p = 0.019), lack of expression of sensuality (G1: 4.07 + 3.4; G2: 2.04 + 2.49; P = 0.009) and general (G1: 6.52 + 2.99, G2: 4.1 + 3.72, p = 0.006). It was not Correlation was statistically significant when correlated with satisfaction. And general health status in the group of women with endometriosis, as well as When correlating the present pain index and sexual satisfaction. Conclusions: We conclude that women with deep endometriosis are less satisfied In their sexual lives when compared to healthy women.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosThe relationship between lean mass, muscle strength and physical ability in independent healthy elderly women from the community(Springer, 2014-05-01) Pisciottano, M. V. C. [UNIFESP]; Pinto, S. S.; Szejnfeld, V. L. [UNIFESP]; Castro, C. H. M. [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP); Univ Cidade São PauloThe association between muscle mass, strength and physical performance has been established in the elderly with co-morbidities. in this study, lean and fat mass, bone mineral density, knee extension and flexion strength and physical ability tests in healthy independent elderly women were investigated. Main determinants of lean mass, strength and physical ability were determined searching for predictors of healthy aging.A total of 100 healthy women aged a parts per thousand yen 65 years considered independent and active were invited. Bone mass and body composition were assessed by DXA. the strength of the lower limb was assessed by isokinetic dynamometry, and physical ability was measured by: Timed Up and Go (TUG), Berg Balance Test (BBT) and Dynamic Gait Index (DGI).Women were on average 70.8 +/- 4.92 years old, had BMI of 27.38 +/- 5.11 kg/m2 and fat mass of 26.96 +/- 9.62 kg or 40.65 +/- 8.06%. Total lean mass and appendicular lean mass (ALM) were 35.38 +/- 4.83 kg and 15.32 +/- 2.26 kg, respectively, while relative skeletal mass index (RSMI) was 6.51 +/- 0.77 kg/m2. Age did not correlate significantly with ALM. Age and ALM were the main determinants of the strength of the lower limb (p < 0.001) while age and strength of the lower limb were significantly associated with the performance on the physical tests (p < 0.001).Age has a negative impact on the strength and the physical performance in independent healthy women without co-morbidities. Physical ability tests are positively influenced by the strength of the lower limb. These relationships suggest that muscle strength should be the parameter to be prioritized when preparing for healthy aging.
