The proposal was to understand how the ongoing experience of being sick chronically interfere in family life and in everyday school life of children and adolescents with atopic dermatitis. Data collection was carried out through monitoring of children with atopic dermatitis and the main strategy to obtain data was the organization of field notes with the main events in the school routine and outpatient children. The initial place of the research was a clinic of allergy and immunology of a university and this territory observation was extended to the family and school life of the research subjects. The main objectives were to identify how the situation reveals the significance of having atopic dermatitis; understand the meaning that children with atopic dermatitis and their families attribute to the disease and identify the stigmas that the situation of being chronically ill can create. As a theoretical framework we used the categories of Goffman (2004; 2010; 2012), with which you can analyze in relational perspective the child's behavior in specific situations. The dissertation was divided in two parts, one with the theoretical chapters that presented the conception of body assumed in the research, a clinical description of the atopic dermatitis and the theoretical referential system and methodological, which used to reference the authors: Le Breton (2011; 2013) Mauss (2003), Geertz (2012), Laplantine (2010) and Goffman (2008; 2010; 2012). In the second part was presented a description of the scenarios and situations observed during the survey. Through research it became clear that the difficulties of having a skin disease not restricted to organic questions, but also present themselves in interactions with the others in different situations, requiring that children create and recreate strategies for living with the disease that have.

Data showed diverse patterns of drug use distributed by geographic situation and street circumstances. Observations were grouped into three main contexts: (a) immersion: greater intensity of drug use associated with greater involvement in the street culture; (b) surface: less drug use associated with family closeness; and (c) alternative-migratory: greater involvement with drug trafficking and prostitution associated with less family closeness and street culture. the drug use patterns varied in accordance with the diversity of street situations. Therefore, the peculiarities of each context should be taken into consideration in the development of social/health policies.

Nevertheless, scientific data on this issue remain scarce. The present study focused on clarifying this phenomenon by means of qualitative and ethnographic research. Observational studies (N = 8), information obtained from key informants (N = 14) and interviews with Ecstasy users (N = 32) from the city of Sao Paulo were part of this study. The results pointed to night clubs and rave parties where electronic music is played as the main context of use. Interviews with users revealed a sample of young adult members of the highest layers of society, with a good educational background and access to the labor market. Furthermore, polydrug use was manifested. Users' typology was established regarding the pattern of drug use, showing two profiles of users: the Rave Generation, consisting of more recent users who initiated this use with the arrival of the large-sized rave parties at the end of the 1990s. The second profile, the Sons of the Hell's Club, consisted of more experienced users (beginning in the early 1990s) and showed a richer history of use. Neither profile group had sought help regarding their Ecstasy use, and both showed positive beliefs related to the safety of use.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Psicanálise e antropologia: diálogos possíveis(Assoc Univ Pequisa Psicopatologia Fundamental, 2011-03-01) Barbieri, Natália Alves [UNIFESP]; Sarti, Cynthia Andersen [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Based on a concrete experience of research, this text proposes a dialogue between psychoanalysis and anthropology, especially in terms of the relationships between researchers and their objects in ethnographical work: in fieldwork, in analyses and in the interpretation of data. These relationships are seen on the basis of transference. They showed the possibility for dialogue on an analytical and methodological level, between two fields of interest, both of which conceive reality as mediated by language.
