Method: 198 elderly people with ages equal or superior to 60 years with preserved cognition, with no laryngeal, neurological or psychiatric problems and they did not use hearing aids. The participants answered a questionnaire of identification, characterization, habits and voice and hearing self-perception. It was applied the protocol of screening of vocal alterations in elderly people (RAVI). It was realized audiometry at the frequencies of 0,5, 1 and 2 KHz and a voice sample was collected for posterior analysis of hearing perception in general degree of vocal deviation and acoustic using the parameters of Fundamental Frequency (F0), jitter, shimmer, glottal-to-noise excitation (GNE) measure, besides the phonatory deviation diagram (DFF). Results: the voice and hearing self-perception on elderly people did not correspond to the data acquired at the voice and hearing clinical evaluation. There was not association between In voice deviation and mild hearing loss. The acoustic measures F0, jitter, shimmer and GNE were associated to the vocal deviation, instead of hearing loss were associated to the jitter increase. Women shown bigger vocal deviation than men, although their perceived own voice more negatively than female sex. With aging there are tending to more intensity vocal deviation and valor increase of jitter and shimmer. Similarly, the aging favor appearance of hearing loss. The practice of voice activities impact on quality of voice. Smoking was related with an increase of noise in the voice, and intense vocal use and the consume of products relate to vocal disturbances. Conclusion: There are no relation between self-perception and the clinical datas of voice and hearing. Vocal deviation does not relate with mild hearing loss. The factor gender is associated with vocal deviation and self-perception. The aging influences voice and hearing. The practice of voice activities could be a protective factor against aging. Smoking was associated with noise in the voice, while intense voice use and the consume of products to improve the voice were related to voice problems.
