Albert Camus e a História: a peste em Oran e em Paris

"O Amor Nos Tempos Do Cólera": Subjetividade E Sofrimento Psíquico Um Ensaio Sobre Psicanálise E Literatura

The present dissertation analyzed the trajectory of the protagonist of the novel Love in the time of the cholera, by Gabriel García Márquez. We sought, through the psychoanalytical instruments, to examine the subjective movements of Florentino Ariza, focusing on producing meaning and understanding of the narrative. Our research is based on the elucidation of two issues and their consequences: the "don juanesco" behavior and the waiting of more than fifty years for Fermina Daza. From the reading of the novel, other questions are raised, thus providing us with subsidies to build up a panorama of Florentino's subjective functioning. Besides, we emphasize as possibilities of dialogue between psychoanalysis and literature, as in the theoretical scope as in the methodological one.

Arte, ciência e tecnologia: um coração partido e a literatura como remédio

Introduction: From a philosophical discussion with regard to the intellectual formation of the human being, we discuss herein how literature can have a Formative-Aesthetic Potential able to foster an Aesthetic Criticism of Technical Rationality, which can be considered, based on the ideas of philosophers such as Habermas, Marcuse, and Horkheimer, as a control mechanism within the capitalist mode of production. Objectives: Based on a discussion about the concept of aesthetic and how it is linked to the knowledge that comes from science and technology, we propose the reading of classical universal literature as a means to foster the criticism of Technical Rationality. Therefore, our goal is, based on a didactic empirical experience, to assess the aesthetical potential of literature within the following scopes: Conceptual (that is, what can be construed as technology and correlated concepts); Productive (in this sense, reflect both on what is being produced, as well as, to whom and why, and the consequences); Operational (that is, to reflect on the professional action, its meanings, forms, and consequences). Methodology: Our research is based on the empirical experience of reading classics from universal literature through the methodology of the Humanities and Technology Laboratory, a complementary activity offered to undergraduate technology courses students at the Federal University of São Paulo. For data collection we used Participant Observation and Oral History of Life and, as a way of guiding the analysis, we base ourselves on Hermeneutic Phenomenology. Results and Discussion: Our results point to the potential of our activity, based on an aesthetic understanding of the formation of Aesthetic Rationality, which is capable of fostering critical analysis, both conceptual and in the field of practice, regarding the technology within its various scopes, both conceptual and of orientation to a social practice. Conclusion: We conclude by stating that technology also has an aesthetic and formative role that must be considered when searching for technological solutions and innovation. Thus, we formulate a postulate where the aesthetic understanding of technology must undergo a reflection which is also aesthetic, and literature, through our methodology, can provide what we suggest as an objective to carry out this research.

In This Dissertation, The Main Objective Is To Analyze The Characters Sissy And Death And The Fairy Tales Elements That Compose And Create Them, Analyzing The Metamorphosis That Is Present In The Story And How It Is Characterized On Both These Characters. This study focused on the Humanities Laboratory of the Center for History and Philosophy of Health Sciences, Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP). Our objective was to analyze how this educational activity, which is grounded on the aesthetic and reflective experience promoted by reading classic literature, act and impacts on healthcare students and professionals, thereby giving rise to humanistic training and humanization within healthcare. Starting from qualitative methodology, based on participant observation and on the participants' oral life histories, this study sought to assess and understand how an educational activity based on humanities can be proposed as a way towards humanizing healthcare. Our results showed that this was an effective approach, in that the esthetic experience promoted by reading the classics created an effect among the Humanities Laboratory participants, thereby producing reflective momentum that resulted in changes at both professional and personal levels.

Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar a atuação de Domingos Gonçalves de Magalhães em campos pouco estudados quando se fala do poeta: na política e nos primórdios da historiografia no Brasil Império. No campo político, Magalhães exerceu vários cargos importantes. Participou da contenção de duas revoltas no Império - Balaiada e Farroupilha -, exercendo o cargo de secretário de governo, e foi representante diplomata brasileiro em vários países por mais de trinta anos. Como homem de letras, foi membro do IHGB e professor do Colégio D. Pedro II, além de participar ativamente na produção das principais revistas literárias brasileiras e de ter suas obras referenciadas pelos contemporâneos. Assim, procuraremos nessa pesquisa entender quais eram as ligações políticas de Magalhães e suas concepções sobre a nacionalidade brasileira, refletindo sobre as alianças firmadas pelo poeta em diferentes espaços e durante momentos conturbados do século XIX brasileiro.

Humanidades e humanização em saúde: a literatura como elemento humanizador para graduandos da área da saúde

This paper presents the results from a research project in which the main objective was to ascertain the benefits of including the Humanities Laboratory (LabHum) of the Center for History and Philosophy of Health Sciences (CeHFi), Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) as an elective discipline for promoting humanization in the context of medical and nursing students. The course focused on reflections from reading classics from the literature. Qualitative methods based on hermeneutic phenomenology were used. The results pointed towards the idea that literature enables deflagration of “interpellative experiences”, i.e. moments of self-reflection that are capable of touching and educating to the point at which changes to vision and attitudes are incorporated naturally into the daily routine, so as to promote humanization.

Jogo de espelhos: a noção de demoníaco em Schopenhauer, Machado de Assis e Freud

O uso da palavra demoníaco por Freud, não muito frequente, suscitou uma reflexão sobre o sentido para que aponta esta noção, haja vista não se tratar de um conceito. Ver o termo como um sinônimo de malignidade não parecia corresponder ao conjunto de significância do fraseado. Assim posta a problemática, vislumbrou-se uma via de acesso à questão a partir da literatura machadiana que, em muitas passagens de sua obra, aborda o jogo de forças a se manifestar na trajetória da existência humana, metamorfoseadas nas figuras alegóricas do Diabo, Pandora ou simplesmente natureza. Um importante comentador de Machado de Assis, Raymundo Faoro, identifica na ideia de natureza que transparece na obra do escritor brasileiro uma matriz schopenhauriana, a Vontade. O mesmo comentador encontra também ressonâncias na natureza machadiana do conjunto de ponderações (existenciais, filosóficas, estéticas, literárias) ao qual Goethe veio a nomear de demoníaco. Com Machado de Assis reencontramos, transpostos à realidade brasileira da época e à assimilação estética do gênio tupiniquim, um certo aspecto do universo da cultura de língua germânica. Assim, procuramos discernir, a partir de um conto de Machado, os impulsos demoníacos e naturais da criação literária e as fontes intelectuais de tais noções envolvidas para comparar ao uso do termo pelo Pai da Psicanálise. Freud dizia que os poetas haviam percebido com antecedência certas descobertas psicanalíticas, embora não as sistematizassem. Levando a sério essas considerações, o presente exame busca colocar os textos estudados frente a frente, à maneira especular, sem hierarquizá-los, para nesse “jogo de espelhos” trazer à tona as nuances de sentido no uso do vocábulo demoníaco. A pesquisa resultou que, nos reflexos produzidos, vislumbramos que a potência fisiológica/sexual na criação literária do cônego de Machado configurava a mesma força produtiva obscura de sintomas e sonhos denominada por Freud de demoníaca. A força da natureza que no conto machadiano produz a obra artística não se opõe à significação que o termo demoníaco vem a desenvolver num segundo momento da obra psicanalítica de seu pai fundador, quando suaviza o sentido de produção (embora mantenha essa nuance semântica) para repetição, característica que aponta para tendências conservadoras dos instintos dos seres orgânicos (no nível psíquico) em direção ao estado originário de quietude absoluta, porque tudo que é demoníaco é também natural. Faz-se admissível que, do mesmo modo que o daimon representava um intermediário entre homens e deuses para os gregos, o uso do termo demoníaco por Freud represente uma transição do universo mítico/poético para o mundo do realismo científico professado pelo psicanalista.

O jovem Lukàcs e Dostoiévski

O presente estudo pretende analisar as categorias expostas por Lukács na teoria do romance. Nela, procuraremos esmiuçar seus conceitos, para facilitar o entendimento sobre os gêneros e as formas da literatura para o jovem filósofo. Feito esse caminho, passaremos para uma análise das fragmentadas Anotações sobre Dostoiévski, buscando compreender o perturbante final d’A teoria em que o autor afirma que: “Dostoiévski não escreveu romance algum”. Tem-se com isso, o objetivo de desnudar em que medida a estética e a ética estão imbricadas no pensamento do Lukács da juventude. Além disso, busca-se também examinar as conjecturas expostas nas duas obras com o intuito de captar os momentos de viragens das formas do romance que, para Lukács, irá culminar na obra dostoievskiana. Obra essa, que, ao que tudo indica, o permite antever as mudanças profundas ocorridas no século XX. Com efeito, a obra de Dostoiévski – Os irmãos Karamázov – será aqui considerada, a partir dos conceitos expostos por Lukács tanto na teoria, quanto nas anotações. Tentaremos compreender, portanto, como Lukács via, na obra do escritor russo, uma nova forma que ademais indicava que algo no mundo real e concreto estava mudando radicalmente.

Literatura e educação infantil: Quais caminhos trilham os professores / Telma de Mendonça Emidio

This study investigates the literary reading practices established by a group of teachers in the daily of public school of childhood education. Was preceded by questions about the use of reading materials sent to educational institutions and the interactions between children and literature books, in the context of Residence Pedagogical of UNIFESP, in a public school in Guarulhos city - Brazil. The interest of this research is to understand the ways in which teachers of childhood education have been dealing with literature in their routines, and consider the possible educational guidance offered to promote such practices. In preparing the study, we opted for qualitative research according to the assumptions of Bogdan & Biklen (1994) and Flick (2004), with records of observations in the daily field and the application of focus groups to collect data and verbal documentary on two local schools. Limited to this study, data analysis indicates that children's participation in practices of literary reading is small, since the teachers choose tell stories without the presence of books. This strategy commits the literary literacy, since children do not have the opportunity to handle or come into contact with the literary work, know the styles of writings and other elements that make up the books of children's literature. Another finding is that the collections of books are available at school, however, without effective actions for direct access of children to these materials. The data also show the need to consider teacher training (initial and ongoing) as a way to encourage the literary literacy from early childhood education, what is a challenge facing not only to the school systems, but for the entire academic community.

Literatura e Saúde: leituras com velhos

A leitura pode permitir o encontro com saberes sutis, novas sensações, percepções inauditas, ajudar na reformulação de ideias enraizadas e nas aprendizagens, além de ser uma possibilidade de abertura de mundos. Assim como em certas artes, a função da leitura não se restringe a causar conforto, felicidade e bem-estar. Um personagem, um livro e uma palavra podem instigar, provocar, despertar, desafiar e até angustiar aquele que mergulha no universo da leitura. Associado a isto, procurou-se abordar questões da saúde e da velhice. Buscou-se enunciar as potências da velhice, com ecos do pensamento de Gilles Deleuze (1925-1995) e, em relação à concepção de saúde-doença, utilizou-se a noção de normatividade vital de Georges Canguilhem (1904-1995). Tais discussões conceituais foram acompanhadas de escritos literários a elas correlacionadas. O presente trabalho visou investigar efeitos de experiências de leitura compartilhada de obras literárias com velhos. Quantos aos objetivos específicos, a pesquisa buscou conexões entre a leitura de obras literárias e saúde, bem como analisar a experiência de leitura de obras literárias por velhos. O estudo se caracterizou como exploratório descritivo, de abordagem qualitativa. Os dez participantes da pesquisa, de ambos os sexos, de 60 anos ou mais, eram participantes do Projeto de Roda de Leitura da Faculdade de Tecnologia da Baixada Santista - Fatec e da Universidade Aberta à Pessoa Idosa do campus Baixada Santista da Unifesp, na cidade de Santos-SP. O procedimento constituiu-se de atividades organizadas na forma de oficinas quinzenais com leitura dos textos, seguida de discussões e reflexões. Os encontros foram gravados e transcritos. Após o término dos encontros, realizou-se o registro escrito de impressões, apontando para aspectos da dinâmica de discussão como gestos, falas, diálogos, expressões, comentários e fatos marcantes do dia. Em seguida, foram produzidas narrativas dos encontros. Posteriormente, foram analisados os efeitos de cada narrativa. Em seguida, buscou-se localizar os efeitos transversais, sobretudo pela sua recorrência nos encontros. Tais efeitos transversais percebidos foram: evocação, produção de memórias e histórias; identificação, ecos com personagens e histórias; afetos, angústias e corporeidades; uma quebra que não tem volta e reação; descontração, relaxamento, apaziguamento com pedaços de dinamite?; distinção, associação, certa literatura nos lê; interesse pelas histórias de outrem e laços entre os participantes; leituras e sensações paradoxais; evocação de experiências-limite; literatura, leitura e mais do que não sei, não aceito. Quanto à experiência dos encontros, a discussão apontou como uma das ideias-chave o fato de que “nada é para já”, quando se trata de leitura de textos literários, ou seja, que efeitos significativos podem seguir se formando, mesmo após os encontros. Também foi considerada a ideia de um grupo voltado mais para uma Aventura Vital Coletiva do que um empreendimento de saúde em sentido restrito. Observou-se também que certas leituras abriram caminhos para efeitos paradoxais: pensamentos diversos que mantiveram e desmistificaram crenças, impulsionando questionamentos e reafirmando a moral.

Literatura, vida pública e modernidade: um estudo sobre Othon Lobo da Gama d'Eça

This thesis aims to analyze the literature, the publications and the speeches of Othon Lobo Gama D' Eça's (1892-1965), a Santa Catarina writer. The period reflected in his work relates to an urban transformation process that occurred in the city of Florianópolis and in the state of Santa Catarina in the first half of the twentieth century. Leading figure in Santa Catarina's scenario, Othon D' Eça was a writer, a member of Santa Catarina's Academy of Letters, the secretary of State's Public Security, a law professor and a politician, having also been provincial head of Integralism. This work intends to propose some interpretations of the author's intellectual production, linking the historical context to Othon D'Eça's biography, publications, notes and speeches, showing some of the dilemmas of modernization in Florianópolis in the decades between 1920 and 1950.

O lugar da adaptação na formação de leitores de literatura: o caso de Dom Casmurro adaptado para HQ

Esta dissertação propõe-se a observar as adaptações literárias de clássicos da literatura universal para História em Quadrinhos para o público infantojuvenil e o seu funcionamento na formação literária dos alunos pertencentes aos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental e Ensino Médio, com foco especial na obra Dom Casmurro (1997), de Machado de Assis, e Dom Casmurro da série Clássicos Brasileiros em HQ, Editora Ática (2012), da autoria de Ivan Jaf e com ilustrações de Rodrigo Rosa, obra pertencente ao Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola (PNBE) do ano de 2013. Os objetivos da pesquisa contemplam construir uma reflexão sobre as possibilidades de práticas de leitura realizadas nas escolas e em espaços não escolares, considerando o papel do professor como mediador de leitura, estabelecendo reflexões acerca do letramento literário e da formação do gosto leitor nos anos escolares, trazendo considerações dos autores Cosson (2014, 2016), Soares (1999), Dalvi (2013) e Jouve (2012), questões referentes às narrativas ficcionais de acordo com Eco (1994), a formação de novos leitores a partir de adaptações de obras clássicas com base nos autores Machado (2002) e Feijó (2010), a questão de obras clássicas da leitura a partir de Calvino (1993) e Machado (2002) e adaptação de acordo com Hutcheon (2013), mediação de leitura a partir das considerações dos autores Ceccantini (2009) e Silva (2009) e estudos sobre os quadrinhos de Ramos (2010), Pina (2014) e Rodrigues (2014). Além de apresentar um levantamento de dados sobre o Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola (PNBE) considerando os editais lançados e as aquisições realizadas nos anos de vigência do programa, focalizando a inserção de HQ na lista de obras contempladas pelo programa, a partir de Yamaguti (2018) e Fernandes (2017). Além disso, foi realizada uma investigação acerca do conceito de literatura que os documentos oficiais educacionais nacionais expõem, relacionando com as definições explanadas por Compagnon (1999) e Culler (1999). Com inspiração nos círculos de leitura apresentados por Cosson (2014) e no laboratório de leitura de Gallian (2017), foi criado uma metodologia para auxiliar professores na mediação de leitura e interpretação de obras em HQ adaptadas de clássicos da literatura, a qual foi intitulada de “Oficina de Leitura: o romance e a HQ”, trazendo um roteiro de atividades que contemplam as cinco categorias narrativas: narrador, personagens, enredo, tempo e espaço. Desta forma, a pesquisa visa a contribuição para os estudos nas áreas de literatura, ensino e HQ.

O olhar de Brecht sobre o Nazismo: uma análise da peça teatral Os cabeças redondas e os cabeças pontudas

After Hitler came to power in 1933, thousands of people had to flee Germany due to the repression by the Nazis to their political opponents. One of these exiles was the artist Bertolt Brecht. During the period he was in exile, he used his art as a political weapon against the Nazis. Only for the theater, he wrote six pieces that have this phenomenon as a theme, becoming important historical documents. His pieces reveal a lot about the Nazis, but especially how this artist faced this political movement. Thus, the main objective of this monograph is based on the analysis of one of these pieces, The Round Heads and The Pointed Heads (Die Rundkoepfe und die Spitzkoepfe), presenting Brecht’s view over Nazism.

Personagens analfabetos : de percursos sociais ao romance de João Gumes

The Purpose Of This Study Is To Approach Illiteracy As A Literary Theme, Establishing A Relation With Some Social Aspects Of Brazilian Reality. For This, I Take As An Axis Of Analysis The Novel Os Analphabetos, By Writer And Journalist João Antônio Dos Santos Gumes (1858-1930), Published For The First Time In 1928, As Well As The Higher Outback Region Of Bahia, Where Its Narrative Is Set In. In This Perspective, The Thesis Is Divided In Four Chapters. The First One, Begins With Interviews With Illiterate People To Establish The Complexity Of Their Social Paths And The Various Facets Of Their Universe, Before Actually Entering The Work Of Gumes. The Second One Deals With The Representation Of Illiteracy In The Literature, In Which I Try To Conduct A Dialogue Of The Novel Of Gumes With Other Novelists Known Nationally, Having As A Common Point The Illiterate Characters Present In His Works. The Third And Fourth Chapters Focus On Os Analphabetos As A Novel And As A Social Interpretation Of The Author. This Work

Uma "possibilidade impossível de dizer": o acontecimento em filosofia e em literatura, segundo Jacques Derrida

This paper takes account of the impossible possibility of saying the event, a fertile notion in Derrida's last writings. The possibility of the impossible is an expression borrowed from Heidegger's concept of Ereignis. It is related to an aporetic ethics concerned about responsibility in facing the inappropriability of events. In some of Derrida's most famous possible-impossible aporias - justice rebellious to rule, the ghost of the undecidable in every event of decision, invention that always presupposes some illegality - an ethics of alterity puts forward a critique of the unitary self, a subjectivity under the underivable interpellation coming from events. The relevance of the otherness to understanding any decision solicits the law of the singular event, a promise of originality. However, the incalculable uniqueness and exceptionality of each event implies for Derrida a promise of a monolingual community, with its suspending or bracketing of dissemination acts. In the face of the reserves of the undecidable of fiction, that promise of uniqueness seems obviously impossible. This article aims, therefore, to estimate the deconstructive fertility of the relationship between testimony and fiction in literature, a moment in Derrida's thought in which the categories of truth break down, thus revealing literature as the other of philosophy.

A publicação e o sucesso editorial da Casa dos Espíritos no Brasil: história, literatura e imprensa

Based on the relations among history, literature and the press, we sought to understand the construction of the publishing success of the work A Casa dos Espíritos by the Chilean writer Isabel Allende, in Brazil, throughout the 1980s. The research was done through the analysis of the diffusion and circulation of this work in newspapers of greater circulation of Brazil at the time - Folha de S. Paulo, O Globo, O Estado de S. Paulo and Jornal do Brasil -, one of the newspapers of the "feminist press", Mulherio, and the Leia Livros newspaper of literary releases announcement. Considering the foreign influence in our publishing market and the previous success obtained in Spain, country where it has been first published, we will use as source the periodicals La Vanguardia and El País, both from Spain, as well as literary reviews and reports published in newspapers in Chile, in the decade of 1980. It is the first novel by this writer, who had self-exiled himself in Venezuela, and it was released in Spain and Chile in 1982 with the title: La Casa de los Espíritus. Considered by the specialized critics a success just a short time after its launch, the book covers the history of Chile of the twentieth century, the transition from the rural world to an urban world, brings novelized historical accounts of the violence of the Chilean dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet, presents women with magical powers of the Del-Valle Trueba family (which allows us to characterize the work as a fantastic narrative of magical realism) and makes constant references to feminist and women's movements that were occurring in Latin America. In Brazil, the book is released in 1984 and enters the list of best sellers in the same year. We consider that this analysis contributes to the elucidation of aspects of the historical context of diffusion and circulation of literature in Brazil at the time. For this, the contributions of Raymond Williams and Antonio Candido are fundamental references, in order to reflect on the intersections between history and literature. The theoretical-methodological reflections have increased with discussions on aspects of the Brazilian publishing market in the 1980s, in order to understand the sociocultural context of the period, which allowed the work to gain space.

It Analyses, Regarding The Point Of View, How Far The Linguistic Choices Are Close To Or Distant From The Constructions Of The Narrators Of The Tales. By the end of the eighteen century, the madness earned the status of mental illness capable of being cured under the care of a medical specialty that has just born: the Alienism, profession which arrived in Brazil at the 1880s, a consensus in the historiography regarding the subject. A period of crisis and change, flagged by Brazil's debut into modernity, the alienist's speech would use his own knowledge specificities as a deadly weapon to fight the poverty, which haunted ideals of morality and good manners of the new urban bourgeoisie. In this sense, this research aims to analyze the debates developed on the theme of Madness, from the formation of the medical alienist knowledge in Brazil, in a process of changing nominated here as the dawn of the Republic. For this end, we put in evidence two sets of documents of different nature: O Alienista, by Machado de Assis, written between late 1881 and early 1882; excerpts of Esboço de psiquiatria forense (1904) and Fragmentos de psiquiatria (1895), both written by alienist doctor Franco da Rocha. The confrontation between the two writers is revealing in the sense which, through the formation of a specialized knowledge, voices are raised in order to question the arbitrariness of their power.
