This research project implemented a remote FPGA laboratory for teaching and learning Digital Systems. The laboratory has different characteristics and enables extra-class activities. It was structured with a view to better coupling the teaching-learning process by observing the students’ reality and, for example, allowing the student to choose to view the images of the system faster, saving internet bandwidth. We carried out the implementation of the laboratory at UNIFESP, which has a laboratory for the disciplines of Digital Systems, which currently offers twenty-five computers with 25 FPGA Altera Kits for use with the Quartus Prime Software. The demand for students to use this equipment is higher than the proposed, and not all students can use it during the period of classes. As a final artifact, the remote lab was included in the Moodle virtual learning environment through a plugin. We carried a survey with the students in which them had to indicate their degree of agreement or disagreement on a 5-point Likert scale with questions related to their experience with the use of the remote laboratory. The results were quite positive; the majority of the students answered that the use of the remote laboratory strengthened their practical skills and that they were motivated to carry out the activities by the remote laboratory.
