Among several actions in schooling inclusion process the collaborative consultancy has been seeing as an expressive form of intervention. It involves a different and equal process between a consultant and a consulted who can feel free to accept or not the suggestions during the consultancy. Acting as a team with the same goals the collaborative consultancy allows educators and specialized professionals to share resources and duties, which can strengthen eduation practices and cooperate with educator formation in inclusive education terms. The objective of this study was to analyze the occupational therapy intervention by utilizing collaborative consultancy in education for children with visual impairment. To achieve the goal of analyzing the intervention the option was to organize a descriptive study based in qualitative research and using cases studies. Five educators who assist children with visual impairment collaborated in the qualitative research. To acquire data the following evaluation tools were utilized: 1- semi-scructured interview observing points related to personal identification, knowledge and difficulties about visual impairment and suggestions about the works with children diagnosed with visual disability. 2- Questionnaire to evaluate the meetings results (the subject discussed, didactic stratedies, resources and methodology, and participation). 3- Fiel journal. Data were analyzes through descriptive analysis. The collaborative consultancy gave the educators knowledge of visual disabilities as well as tools for adapting pedagogical materials, also provided strategies to evaluate behavior and playing actions, and cleared doubts about independence (mobility, meals, hygiene and dressing). Utilizing collaborative consultancy through actions that help in teach-learning process, the occupational therapy intervention fostered and made easier the inclusion process of children with visual impairment.
- ItemSomente MetadadadosAplicabilidade do programa personalizado de atividades (tap-br) em idosos com demência e seus respectivos cuidadores familiares(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2016-03-16) Machado, Styfany Correa Batista [UNIFESP]; Novelli, Marcia Maria Pires Camargo [UNIFESP]; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)Applicability of the Tailored Activity Program (TAP-Br) in elderly patients with dementia and their caregivers family members Introduction: The Tailored Activity Program (TAP-Br) is the Portuguese version of the Tailored Activity Program (TAP), which is an intervention program in Occupational Therapy, proposed for individuals with dementia and their caregivers, based on 8 sessions, delivery by home (90 minutes each) over a period of 3 to 4 months. The TAP is a program that develops from two approaches: the activities proposition adequate the ability of individuals with dementia that enable them the participation and engagement in these activities and orientation of caregivers/family members in the use and implementation of these activities. Objectives: To assess the applicability of the program adapted to our culture, session by session, taking into account the view of occupational therapists and family caregivers and the development of the program. Materials and Methods: The TAP-Br was applied in a sample of elderly patients with dementia (n = 13) and their caregivers/family members (n = 13). The feasibility was documented by the occupational therapists: the time spent on the sessions, the facility of administration of each evaluation proposed by the program, the application and use of activities, use of educational materials, the simplification of the activity and the environment. Another aspect evaluated was the interpretation of the ease of use of these interventions in the therapeutic context, considering its full implementation and the need for adjustments and adaptations in the use of the program. It is also was evaluated the perceptions of occupational therapists on the acceptance of the sessions by caregivers and the elderly, and on the identified benefits. This evaluation step was performed by numerical scales, ranging from 1 (very difficult) to 5 (very easy) and was discussed among the occupational therapists who were part of the team, to identify the need for adjustments in the original proposal considering our reality and culture. To assess the social impact of the adapted program, the perception of caregivers, numerical rating scales was applied with a range from 1 (very difficult) to 5 (very easy) for the testing of items: time spent on the sessions, ease of implementation and use of activities, use of simplification of activities and communication strategies. Results: The elderly are mostly male (61.54%), the average age is 78.23 ± 8.00 years and the schooling of 12.92 ± 3.49. Regarding the caregivers, these are, in their entirety, women with an average age of 62.53 ± 6.10 years and 14.38 ± 2.06 schooling. For the 13 pairs VII (elderly/caregivers) were prescribed 43 activities. The occupational therapists point out as the potential of the program was the centered care caregiver - caregiver empowerment (69.23%), and as difficulty/fragility was the use of cognitive assessment (LACLS-5) (92.30%). The caregivers point to potential of the program was the custom guidelines (76.92%) and the majority of them (76.92%) indicated no weaknesses. Conclusions: The TAP-Br was shown to be applicable in the view of occupational therapists and caregivers - considering the full program and its potential for full action.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Grupo interdisciplinar de terapia da mão do ambulatório de terapia ocupacional da irmandade da Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Santos: uma clínica de muitas mãos, sujeitos e reflexões(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2015-11-30) Paiva, Gisele [UNIFESP]; Uchôa-Figueiredo, Lúcia da Rocha [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3179063226554474; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9385641297899352; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)New theories linked to rehabilitation have come up with changes in the desing of the rehabilitation object where they propose greater emphasis on social relationships and, in a way, showing that the reductionist model is outdated. However, even though some professionals are willing to work looking the patient in its entirety, their reductionist training hampers the process. It is know that the human being experiences the groups over its development as an individual and part of a society, that health education can be favored in exchanges and group experiences and that the group approach is udes in Occupaciontal Therapy, as an important effective intervention in the acquisition of new skills, independence, care techniques and as a learning space related to the health-disease process. Thus, the objectives of this research were: To understand the changes in the daily lives of the participants of the interdisciplinar therapeutic groups of health education at the Occupational Therapy and Hand Therapy Ambulatory (OTHT) of the Irmandade da Santa Casa da Misericordia de Santos (ISCMS) [Brotherhood of the Holy House of mercy of Santos], to cognize how the groups influenced the more active participation in health care and understanding their perception regarding the creation of support network, hosting and exchange of experiences within the group. It is a retrospective and study, exploratory and qualitative, conducted with 10 participants, in which 05 had carpal tunnel syndrome and 05 had upper limb amputees, four women and men, regulars of the interdisciplinary therapeutic and health education groups taking place in OTHT Ambulatory in ISCMS. The instruments used for data collection were: semi-structured interviews; the evolution of groups and field diaries written by occupational therapy and psychology students. Data analysis was carried out following the theory of content analysis and were developed four 04 categories and thirteen 13 thematic units, respectively: treatment of occupational therapy (improvement of symptoms, guidelines and emotional aspects); group service (interaction with patients, activities, new skills and coping); greeting (conversations, confidences and mutual assistance); and the last impact on the everyday life (way of life adjustments, basic activities of daily life and social relations). As a result it was found that changes in daily life occurred in the development of greater autonomy and independence in basic activities due to reduced symptoms and through the emotional benefits as incentive, self-esteem and coping. The group influenced the more active participation in health care through a greater understanding of the health-disease process, the acquisition of new care habits and after receiving explanations and guidelines. The participants perceived the group as a space to share and learn from each other and felt welcomed by the conversations and confidences. The support networks, through interpersonal relations, have strengthened considerably inside the group, but did not expand beyond this. Final thoughts: a group intervention influenced satisfactorily in routine changes and the personal life of the participants, thus being considered a powerful resource for working with this population.
- ItemAcesso aberto (Open Access)Inclusão de jovens com deficiência no mundo do trabalho: análise da participação familiar(Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP), 2015-04-29) Manaia, Marilia Di Vito [UNIFESP]; Acosta, Ana Rojas [UNIFESP]; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4140547211703368; Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP)The work has been seen as a necessary condition for subsistence of man and also as an important element of production. Throughout history, people with disabilities were excluded from labor field, since society understands that due to physical, sensory and / or mental conditions, those people need assistance and were not able to produce. Regarding people with intellectual disabilities, they have a small percentage of participation in the labor market compared to the other disabilities. When the 8213 Act was designed in 1991, called then Quota Law, the state started to ensure the hiring of those people through quotas. From some professional experience, it is realized young people with intellectual disabilities often live in over-protected family environments which interfere in the acquisition of independence and autonomy. It is understood that this immaturity may be a complicating factor in the integration in the labor market. From this point of view, it is understood that the family has an important role and support to people with intellectual disabilities. This study aimed to analyze the participation of families of young people and adults with intellectual disabilities during the process of inclusion in the world of work which is part of the ?Being Efficient Program in Centro Espírita Beneficente (CEB) "July 30", located in the City of Santos. It was used a methodology based on the case study and the sample chosen were the families who participate in the Program for more than a year, from 2010 to 2013. The survey was conducted through the records of young people / adults in order to identify them. After this survey, we selected four families of young people who are in the inclusion criteria. A qualitative study was conducted through the narratives of families for the inclusion process in the labor market. It was used the speech analysis to evaluate the material collected. The results showed that two out of four families interviewed delegate to the institution the care of their children, being absent of this process and the other two are aware of the child's needs, follow up and assist in this process, taking the responsibility to themselves. In this sense, it was observed that young people and adults with intellectual disabilities, when followed up by the family, mature faster, though within their limits. In order to increase family participation in this process, it was proposed the creation of spaces for discussion and reflection in groups targeting issues related to overprotection, infantilization and achievement of the autonomy in the world of work.
