    According To The International Diabetes Federation, In 2015, 5 Million People Died Due To Complications Of Diabetes. Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (Dm2) Is Characterized By Hyperglycemia And Hyperinsulinemia, As Well As Changes In The Metabolism Of Lipids, Carbohydrates And Proteins. In This Context, New Alternatives, Including Plant Extracts Containing Bioactive Substances, Such As Flavonoids, Are Under Experimental And Clinical Investigation In Order To Prevent The Progress Of Metabolic Disorders Or Even Prevent The Development Of These Disorders. The Neotropical Specie Bauhinia Forficata Link (Bf) Is A Tree Whose Leaves Are Widely Used In Folk Medicine As Anti-Diabetogenic.
