In a short-term approach, submaximal voluntary isometric contraction (SIVC) of the plantar flexors at different times has been discussed. However, the results are conflicting and do not support the effectiveness of various types and times of the plantar flexor for pain relief in individuals with Achilles tendinopathy (AT). Objective: To evaluate the effect of other times and exercise types of the plantar flexor muscles on pain intensity in individuals with AT. Method: A longitudinal randomized clinical study. There were 20 participants in each group (40 participants). The study consists of 2 phases with two different duration groups. Group I: 45 seconds and Group II: 60 seconds. Phase I is the isometric exercise phase with only plantar flexion movement. Phase II is the isotonic exercise phase. Each phase takes place over two weeks. The evaluator did all the assessments at the baseline time and at the end of phases I and II. The IPAQ, VISA-A, NRS-11, Modified Blazina Scale, and Central Sensitization Inventory (CSI) questionnaires, Pressure Pain Threshold (PPT), and muscle strength dynamometry were used. Results: Regarding all the assessments, our primary outcomes showed significant differences for 45s isotonic exercises compared to the other groups. The PPT assessment showed a significant difference between 45s isometric contractions in the proximal area and 45s isotonic medial area compared to the other groups. Conclusion: The exercises with 45s isotonic contractions improved the intensity of pain in individuals with Achilles tendinopathy.
